Vikram organised a quiz for the Dr. Reddy’s leadership team in November 2019. He created a very entertaining quiz that brought the flavour of healthcare and science into everyday life. Vikram’s ability to use powerful visuals with interesting explanations was outstanding. The audience consisted of people from over 20 countries and the way Vikram conducted the quiz, everyone could relate to it; it was a truly global quiz.

The Chugh and Chanty quizzes are exactly this. 

 

Every quiz event is packed not only with jaw dropping trivia but also a big laugh as the quizmasters have a very tongue-in-cheek ir-reverential manner dealing with the contestants and audience. 

 

On a personal note, both Vikram and Dr Chugh are  very easy to work with, very flexible and very focussed on promoting a very high quality of quizzing in India.

Both Chugh & Chanty have been quizzing with us for the past 6 years at Cocktails & Dreams Speakeasy,  and for the last year at Sidecar. Not only are they amazing hosts, with a great sense of humour, they also have pretty in depth knowhow on conducting quizzes, along with the formats. 

 

Right from using AV, to sensory experiences like tastings and nosing, we have explored many fun formats with them, and it has been nothing less than delightful. The quizzers they attract come from far and wide, and are mostly loyalists and love a good banter along the side of their quiz! We wish them the very best always!

A Quiz is a Quiz is a Quiz??? Not if it is run by Vikram Achanta aka Chanty.    I have known Chanty as a friend for many many years, know of his Quizzing prowess, his passion for organising quizzes and his ability to custom-design quizzes for different companies.

So, 6 years back, when we launched  Mind Over Matter – Hong Kong Corporate Quiz, it didn’t need too much thinking to reach out to him to be one of the Quizmasters.    And when you interact with someone like Chanty on a regular basis bringing Quizzing to Hong Kong, driving the agenda to foster curious minds, you quickly realise a few things:

* The Quality of the questions is par excellence – this is the feedback we get from our participants: “Where does he manage to find all this fascinating information and pose it in such an interesting way that is entertaining and fun?”  


* He is amazingly creative and open minded – we had given him a mandate that we wanted the questions to be intuitive and not trivia-based, not something that was a “you know it or not” but something which teams could work out together.   Today, in the 6 editions we have run, he has helped us create an environment where the teams work together to unravel the answers, go back very appreciative of the trove of knowledge they have had access to.  

With his vast experience of running  quizzes, he is able to bring in ideas to keep the Quiz ever-changing and interesting, with new rounds, creative touches and ensures it stays trendy.

And with that many years of quizzing under his sleeve, he is equally open to listen to suggestions, try new formats and make them even better.

* He manages to juggle all his commitments and stays ahead of deadlines with his sheer hard work.  We have pushed him on deadlines, kept him away from his favourite Jaipur Lit Fest a few years because of our inflexible dates but he has taken it all with his stride and then gone off the next day after the Quiz to go run Marathons!  As an entrepreneur, I have learnt a lot from his ability to stay focussed and multi-task at the same time. 

We look forward to working with them on many more editions of Mind Over Matter in Hong Kong and wherever else we take it to.
